When we presume to lie for the benefit of others, we have decided that we are the best judges of how much they should understand about their own lives—about how they appear, their reputations, or their prospects in the world. This is an extraordinary stance to adopt toward other human beings, and it requires justification. Unless someone is suicidal or otherwise on the brink, deciding how much he can know about himself seems the quintessence of arrogance. What attitude could be more disrespectful of those we care about?
Music should be an overflow of life experience; and when your life is touring, labels, t-shirts, tent signings, interviews with local papers, etc., where does the overflow from life experience come from? How do you create music about your life when your life is all about creating music?
Why we’re building Fitocracy
fitocracy:
Reading these sorts of things reaffirms why we do what we do :)

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, and die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.
Peter Cat House Show Tomorrow (7/27): Or the Children’s Crusade, Lafayette, & Hawking’s Horse
treesanddemocrats:

We just wanted to remind everyone about the show tomorrow night at The Peter Cat. (1304 Stevens Avenue - Huntsville, AL - Five Points)
Or the Children’s Crusade will be playing along with Lafayette & Hawking’s Horse. The show will get kicked off around 7 PM and is free for all over 21, and (I believe) $3 for anyone under 21. The money will go to help out the touring band.
We hope you can make it. Don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any questions at all.
